Things we are doing this week

This week our class got busy on planning and practicing our presentations for our Monday Program this coming last week of September. So this week where our teacher in English is not present yet for this week, we planned to practice during our English period and also even in our Science period. I hope we will have a good program.

Context Clues

Our lesson last week is about word analysis through context clues. We learned that there are kinds of clues. 1. The Synonym clue where the clue is synonymous to the unfamiliar word. 2. The Antonym clue where the clue opposes or it is the antonym of the unfamiliar word. 3. Association with the word where the meaning of the word may be signaled by any word or idea the word may be associated with. 4. Contrast with another word where the clue is not actually the antonym clue but an idea which opposes the meaning of the word and also it may be contrast in words or contrast in clauses. And lastly, 5. Meaning embedded in the sentence where the meaning is placed or described in the sentence.

Lesson we took in English

Last last week we learned about the perfect tenses especially the Past Perfect Tense. where the past perfect tense is used to denote earlier of the two past actions. It has two forms which is the ordinary form(where: had + been + past participle of the main verb) and the continuous form (where: had + been + verb -ing). Also the time expressions used in the tense include when, before, by the time, and after. After we discussed, we had many examples and exersices to enhance more our skills about the lesson.

Lessons we learned

Last, last week before the examination we have learned about the TQLR Method. Its main concern is to let a person understand more about a certain topic being talked about in a discussion or any speeches. Where "T" stands for "Tune in" to understand the topic. "Q" stands for "Question" to identify relevant topics. "L" stands for "Listen" to get additional topics and to answer his questions he wanted to know. And "R" stands for "Respond" where the listener gives his suggestions, reactions, or any reactions to the speaker.
Also we have read the story "Everyday Use" talking about rivalry between two sisters which are Black Americans. It talks about who has the right to own the quilts made by Big Dee. The lesson I have learned in this story is that wer should value our heritage, culture, and traditions and also to keep and preserve it.

My Impressions at my first day in school

At my first day in school, I felt nervous. And I got curious on how am I going to cope up on my lessons or deal with it. I felt nervous because my classmates and I will meet new teachers to deal with. For me, I observed that nothing changed about the attitudes and behaviours of my classmates. But then, I observed that we decreased in number. Also, even if we decreased, we will be meeting a new classmate from Vigan. So the class decided to give her a warm welcome.
On my vacation, my family and I visited our relatives in Abra. Where I experienced to harvest rice and to help on some farm activities and other things.
And as for my expectations to my subjects; I expect that our lessons will be hard and that we will learn more interesting things on our lessons. I expect to have fun on learning our lessons and on dealing with our teachers. To my teachers whom we will be dealing with this schoolyear, I expect them to give us proper education and also they will be approachable to teach us our lessons propoerly.
My dreams for the future is that I always wanted to be a proffesional nurse someday so that I can help my family and relatives especially my grandfather in Tadian, Mt. Province and my grandmother in Abra. And so that i can help them even on my own simple ways.
