Context Clues

Our lesson last week is about word analysis through context clues. We learned that there are kinds of clues. 1. The Synonym clue where the clue is synonymous to the unfamiliar word. 2. The Antonym clue where the clue opposes or it is the antonym of the unfamiliar word. 3. Association with the word where the meaning of the word may be signaled by any word or idea the word may be associated with. 4. Contrast with another word where the clue is not actually the antonym clue but an idea which opposes the meaning of the word and also it may be contrast in words or contrast in clauses. And lastly, 5. Meaning embedded in the sentence where the meaning is placed or described in the sentence.
